Dr. Jill Williams, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School will be teaching a one-day workshop based on her award winning program implemented in New Jersey titled “Learning About Healthy Living -- Tobacco and You”. This is a train-the-trainer session and is a great opportunity to learn about the innovative program.
Each participant will receive a copy of the manual, which details this comprehensive program based on proven mental health treatment programs involving active participation in a treatment group by clients. Its eight sections contain all the material needed for each meeting of the group, both for the group facilitator-educator and for its members. It contains “how to” steps for quitting as well as scientifically supported factual material and resources. It recognizes not only the importance of individual and group support but also the importance of Nicotine Replacement Therapy as an integral part of a successful cessation program for a client.
