Act locally to end tobacco use in Hawaii. These organizations do important tobacco prevention and control work in their local communities.

Hawaii Island Tobacco-Free Partnership

The Hawaii Island Tobacco-Free Partnership consists of two units, the East Hawaii Unit and West Hawaii Unit. The West Hawaii Unit puts forth initiatives for community intervention, presently featuring a "Peer to Peer" project with the Charter School, Kano o ka Aina. This project aims to decrease the smoking rate among Native Hawaiian youth.

Tobacco-Free Kaua'i

Acting in a number of programs including Kaua'i's Smoke-free Policy and the Tar Wars program for more than 1,000 Kauai 5th graders, Tobacco-Free Kaua'i reaches young people with facts on the dangers of tobacco use, teaching them how to counteract peer pressure to begin smoking. The group has also begun a brief interventions program accessible to all Kaua?i healthcare providers, that encourages them to talk with every patient about the health hazards of tobacco use and to offer help to patients who would like to quit.

Tobacco-Free O'ahu

This new local coalition is beginning to emerge on O'ahu and is developing a strategic plan to prevent and control tobacco use in Honolulu County.

Molokai Tobacco-Free Partnership

Information coming soon.

Native Hawaiian Healthcare

Native Hawaiian Healthcare shows how wellness starts at home: healthy individuals make healthy families, and healthy families make healthy communities.
